I was monitoring the hard disk temperature with pc wizard 2005 before the upgrade (since the ram is right beneath it). I have a 7200 RPM Hitachi E7K60 drive which is hotter than normal 4200 RPM drive (at least from my measurements). The temperature topped out at 51c under load with 2x512 meg crucial sticks installed. After the upgrade to the kingmax sticks, under heavy load the hard drive temperature is 53c.
So indirectly yes, the kingmax 1 gig sticks run a little hotter in my machine than the 512 meg crucial sticks did and the difference in terms of hard disk temperature is about 2c under heavy load.
