Logitech Webcam + USB + T42p = BLUESCREEN

#1 Post by alexanderl » Tue Jul 05, 2005 11:54 pm

Hey!

I'm not really sure if it is a software problem or a hardware one but my feelings tend more to a hardware problem....

I want to use a Logitech Cam (for Notebooks Pro) with my t42p. All recent updates and software is installed - followed every step in the manual - but everytime I want to use the cam .. that means if I start an application which tries to access the cam ... BLUESCREEN...

I already spoke withe the support team of logitech ... but ... "we know the problem ... get the newest drivers from your manufacturer" ... as you could imagine this is not a helpful comment!

So has somebody experiences with logitech cams and IBMs t42??

Thanks a lot!
cheers

I have been using logitech webcam for notebook pro with my T42p for quiet some time. I have not faced any problem so far. I did not install the cam driver from the CD ROM that came with the webcam. Instead, i downloaded the driver from logitech web site. I have not updated any other drivers or applications that came with the notebook though. One thing i can guess is...using a usb webcam and a usb headset at a time wont work. because webcam takes more than 80% of the bandwidth. If you are using both usb cam and headset...try using usb cam and regular 3.5mm pin stereo headset. good luck.

Thanks for your post!

The thing is that I already tried the "trick" with only CAM at USB but with the same result... the bluescreen tells me that there is a problem with a file caled camdrv.dll ....

But good to know that it could work :)
