first of all, i understand that the MFF says that the laptop doesnt have the bluetooth antenna, however, i opened up the keyboard, lifted the modem card and BAM, there it was! so im going to order the bluetooth/modem card and the clear panel for the light. my question is, how do i replace the clear panel? it seems likes it part of the lcd bezel. - solved my problem, order all the parts. 66.50 for card 11.00 for clear plate and 12.00 shipping
next question is about all the IBM folders found on the C drive. can i delete them all? mainly the i386 and ibmtools folders (i already deleted all the others) or are these necessary for something? as i understand it, these arent part of the secret partition and are NOT needed for system recovery.
im also having a small problem with the wifi software. occasionally, when i boot up, i get a windows error report and the program crashes, now all i have to do is start it up again, however i was wondering if there is maybe a new version that wont do this? - i think i solved this one, there was a new version on ibm's site
finally, i noticed there are a LOT of programs starting up by default. is there any faq or something that explains what each is and which are safe to disable? - thanks for the reply, but i had already disabled all the stuff you mentioned, my tray looks very similiar to yours
thanks for any help in advance and its nice to finally find a forum just for TP
i also have a new question. i ordered recovery cd's, however i just got them and they say they are for ibm r51, t42, t42p types 1829, 1830, 1831, 1836, 1840, and 1841. i have a 2373vu. i just called to ask and they said that those are the right cd's even with the mislabeling. can anyone confirm this?
