Mini-dock and firewire

#1 Post by db » Wed Jul 13, 2005 1:44 pm

Hi All,

I have a T42 and am thinking about buying a mini-dock. While I am docked, I can still use my pcmcia firewire card, correct?

Thank you,

Actually when you are docked, can you use any of the ports? ie the 2 USB ports on the Thinkpad?

Yes and yes, the only port I would have doubts about would be the monitor port. I'll try it when I get home and let you know.

edit: monitor port (vga) works as well.

I have my T42p hooked up to a Mini Dock. The PC card slot near the front right side by the laptop's palmrest is available, as are the two USB2.0 ports toward the left side rear. The Mini Dock, as you may know, gives your four more USB2.0 ports. The monitor port off to the right side rear is open. The parallel port on the back is not accessible when attached to the Mini Dock, however.
