T43 dark screen!

Hello folks,

I know this is old news to you guys, but give me the direction/s as to
where to start and where to go!

Thinkpad T43 turns on and I hear the fan noise but the screen is
completely black and nothing happens....

Any comments is highly appreciated.

Check the backlight fuse F3, which has a P (=3A) or N (=2A) printed on it.
S/W of the LCD-connector.
Also check if an external monitor works.

Hello again folks,
It has been a while since I posted to this thread.

Per suggestion, I tried the external monitor and I got the dark screen again.
What would be the next step?
