ATI X600 and HyperMemory

#1 Post by snowdog » Thu Jul 14, 2005 12:40 pm

I have read that the V3200 is based on the ATI X600. Does that mean that the V3200 can use the "HyperMemory" technology of the X600 chip?

Has anyone had any experiences with the X600 HyperMemory tech?

TIA

There's no need of the Hypermemory technology with v3200. Hypermemory is only for low-end graphic cards which don't have enough memory to handle graphics and use the main memory.
T61p - 6457-AN6
X60t - 6363-A7G - NMB - Sanyo[8]
T60p - 2007-83G - TMD - NMB - Sanyo (9)/Panasonic(6)
T43p - 2668-G4G - Hydis - NMB - Sanyo

So 128MB of VRAM is enough for everything inlcuding gaming? What caught my attention is that if 128MB is used up then ati can use some of the 2gb ram which should be plenty enough for both the cpu and gpu to share.

And the X600 is considered low-end?

Thanks for the response.

X300 - Low-end - these have HyperMemory
X600 - Mid-end - I thought these didn't have HM...
X700 - Lower end of high-end
X800 - High-end
X850 - Really high-end
