Replacement LCD for T23 - Samsung for Hitachi

Hi,
I have an IBM TP T23 that has a problem with the backlight. I have tried switching the cable as well as the inverter and it does not work.

Since replacing the backlight seems harder to do, I am thinking of buying a refurbished LCD from eBay.

The original Hitachi models are rare and expensive.

However, the Samsung ones are cheaper and also used for TPs.

I have a few questions.

1. Can I use the same spec Samsung brand ones (14.1" TFT, SXGA)?
2. Can I use another spec 14.1" XGA or VGA models?
3. Are the adapters on these LCDs universal for the T23 cable and inverter?
