clear plate removal

#1 Post by jsklar » Sun Jul 17, 2005 1:40 pm

okay ... you can call me stupid or whatever but is there some kind of trick to removing and replacing the clear plates for the status indicators?

i just got 2668-C2U (super sweet btw) and added in a BMDC-3

i also ordered replacement clear plates but i can't seem to get them off to replace them...

help?

Did you look on the Levano site for the replacement instructions? I'll have to do this myself with one of my T43s when it arrives, but I suspect the details will be in the hardware repair guides.

If you've got the display assembly completely disassembled, you can push them out from the back openings for the LCDs and then simply peel them off.

If not, then use a razor blade or eXacto knife blade to pry up one corner and then gently peel it free.

turns out all it took was using a nife to pry under the plate...i was just being a little too over careful with my new baby.

say, is the bluetooth light supposed to be green? is there way to replace it with a blue LED? would be much cooler...

It is green, don't know about replacing it but that should be possible.
