Can anyone enlighten me on the ati mobile Hack?

I have the utility and have patched and installed the drivers however I'm still dont know exactly what the hack does?

my t41 is the 23734gu with ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 - 32 MB.
lcd is 14.1" TFT active matrix - 24-bit (16.7 million colors)

Any info is much appreciated.
