How to enable RnR Partition from Windows Explorer

#1 Post by mk6262 » Mon Dec 06, 2021 8:30 am

Hi Folks,

Glad to write my first posting:-)

I am a newbie for this forum and recently I'd bought T43p from eBay.
When I turned on T43p and took a first booting, I found that HDD was IBM certified genuine and it had recovery partition.

Unfortunately,
I saw password for both XP logon and RnR boot. The seller had no idea of password.
So I tried to connect this HDD to my Windows 10 laptop and clearing off "ibmpwhp.pyc" in the C Drive (IBM_Preload) and D Drive (IBM_Preboot;AFAIK this partition is RnR partition)
But, RnR still asked password. (maybe I have some mistakes handling ibmpwhp.pyc file :=(

I tried to connect the HDD to my Win 10 laptop again, but, windows explorer detects C: (IBM_preload) but not detects D: (IBM_preboot:RnR Partition)

So I cannot access RnR partition at all now.
But, the RnR partition has not been deleted, when I invoke disk mgt, the Hdd still have RnR partition (OEM partition), but it has no volume name.

How can I restore the RnR partition in the file explorer.

My final goal is removing password from RnR, and getting factory restoration from HDD.

Expecting your help
