defective IBM Thinkpad T40 device
defective IBM Thinkpad T40 device
I recently acquired a supposedly "new" and unused item, however the problem is that it won't start. Nothing appears on the screen when the power lead turns on, and the fan is also spinning erratically. There were no errors or beeps. I've previously tried taking out the battery, pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds, tapping it ten times, etc., but nothing seems to work. It just stays lifeless in that state. Has anyone ever experienced it? Is there even a cure? I think there may be a serious motherboard problem, and there may even be a dead GPU, but how is that possible if the computer has never been used? factory error? defective capacitors
