t40 hangs...due to wireless - help requested

Hi,

I recently purchased a second hand t40p. It has an upgraded wireless g card from ebay.

Ok, the problem is this.

I found, that every minute or so, when typing, the laptop would hang for a few seconds, and then start again.

I tracked it down to the wireless card. Turn it off, and it works fine, back..on and there the issue comes back.

Does anyone have any similar experiences of problems with wireless cards?


The particular card came from "wireless4laptops" on ebay and is reputed to have atheros..chipset.

i used the ibm update tool, to update all the drivers, and it seems to update the access connections and fn keys...displays

anyway, fn f5 is now showing the wireless connection (it wasn't before).

and my initital test seems to indicate no hanging...

so fingers crossed, i'll post another update tomorrow.
