Is it possible to verify serial number before buying?

#1 Post by ludu35 » Mon Jul 25, 2005 2:24 am

Hi all,
I got a good deal on T43P from the guy on internet (Local), but I am worrying that if that laptop is legitimate or NOT. I got the laptop serial number, but is there the way for me to verify that serial number before buying? Please advice. Thanks

Read the FAQs. In there is a link where you can put in the type and serial, and get the warranty status.
Current: 365XD (120 MHz, 72 MiB, 6.4 GB, 4x CD-ROM, 10.4" TFT)
Past: T61p 15.0" QXGA, T60p 15.0" QXGA, X61 Tablet SXGA+, R51e 14.1" XGA, X21

It only telling you the warranty status, not ownership status ...
What I need to know is OwnerShip status on that laptop to make sure it is not a stolen one.

If it's been reported stolen, the warranty will be invalidated.

You can also call the support line. They can look it up for you to see if it's been reported stolen.
