Problems with wireless connection after updates in T40

I spent a whole weekend time to update a T40 machine, including all IBM updates and the SP2. The problem I had was AGAIN the wireless connection: after updating Access Connection to V3.71 together with the suggested wireless driver version 1.2.4.35 - 1RWC86WW for "Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI adapter software for Windows XP" I simply cannot connect wireless any more. Rolling back the wirless driver to Version 1.2.2.9 - 1RWC67WW solved the problem and this old version works well with AC V3.71! Still wondering why...
