Hi,
I have a T41p. Some time ago I purchased a ThinkPad Multi-Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive for it, however I find it very slow.
I also have a ThinkPad Dock II I'm thinking of purchasing a ThinkPad Multi-Burner Plus Ultrabay Enhanced Drive Model 73P3312 for my ThinkPad Dock II. (I do not want USB drives)
So the question is will it fit in ThinkPad Dock II (or do I need some adapter)and is it worth it? Or is there something faster than this model.
Thanks
Sepehr
Multi-Burner
Yes, the 73P3312 should fit the Thinkpad Dock.
If you have an older ultrabay 2000 device, you can remove the back connector and side guide rails and put it on this drive NEC ND-6650:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827152048
It is 8X for DVD+R and DVD-R, same as the 73P3312; but it is faster on DVD+RW (8X) and DVD-RW (6X). It also writes 4X dual-layer. It is also less than half the price of the 73P3312.
However, it does not support DVD-RAM. You also may need to modify the faceplate a little (cut a notch in the lower right corner).
I have the older ND-6500A that works very well in a T23.

Looks like you can just slide in the Ultrabay 2000 drive:
