T40 - USB2.0 not working well

Hello,

I own a T40 2374-4CU. My computer has usb2.0
however it doesn't recogize some of the usb2.0 peripherals sometimes
and I have no control over it.

Does anyone have similar experiences?
Anyone know how to fix this symptom?

Try using a cable that specifically states it's USB2.0 rated.

in my IBM T40p notebook, there is no USB Driver installed ! And i does not know, which driver to install ? The defauilt windows driver has not solved that problem.

If your BIOS has a setting to disable USB, then reenable it in the BIOS. Next, check in device manager. Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Do you see any devices marked with a red x or a yellow ! , if so, that may be your problem. Right click on the device and uninstall it. Reboot Windows. If you still have no USB showing up in device manager, I would guess you have a problem on your motherboard.
