ATI hyrdavision - what's it good for?

#1 Post by RaysMD » Thu Jun 24, 2004 9:58 pm

I haven't installed ATI's hydravision yet. What does it actually do?

Before I wiped clean my HD, I tried to use it but it really didn't do anything.

Never used it, but here is some info. I guess it's like IBM's Presentation Director with more features.

well all I use it for is to make some of my windows transparent. It actually executes this function very poorly, much worse than the NVIDIA nVIEW program. It's just a utility for windows managing basically.

Most useful function in Hydravision is Multidesktop. You can create up to 9 separates desktop, with different background, running programs etc. Next using dedicates keys easy jumps between them.

I have used MulitDesk to create multiple desktops and found a problem that for which I have not yet found an answer ...

Say I have three desktops running and you are in desktop 1. If I use the "Show Desktop" function from the QuickLaunch in Windows XP, ALL the desktop icons and the taskbar in the other two desktops go away --- as far as I can tell there is no way to get them back without closing MultiDesk or a reboot.
