DDR2 PC-5300 667MHz instead of PC-4200 533MHz in T43/T43p

I'm planning to upgrade my T43p memory. I know the T43p spec that it supports DDR2-533 but I wonder if I pay a bit more and use the DDR2-677, would it still work the same like it did in using PC3200 in PC2700 machines? (I know I won't get any performance gain from this but for future compatibility sake).

My concern is that DDR2-677 comes with CL5 while DDR2-533 comes with CL4. If I use the DDR2-677 and it operates at only 533MHz (to be precise 2x266), will the memory controller operates at CL4 or CL5? I'm afraid I'll end up slowing down the machine instead of accelerating the machine

Dont know if it will work...
buy the correct specification of ram, Save your money, and spend it on the latests memory when the time comes... Its not worth "predicting" the furture of computer memory.

It might work, who knows. But it won't operate any faster than the laptop can run it. I agree, save your money.

You're better off with tighter timing than high speeds in laptops (High speed = More voltage used in general = More heat = Decreased battery and lifetime usage)
