confusion about wireless availability in T43 ...

#1 Post by monique » Wed Jul 27, 2005 11:14 am

Hi all! Looking to buy my first laptop, and I really want a Thinkpad ...

Anyway, I think I want the T43, but I'm confused about how to configure it. Under "Wireless Networking Components", the overall spec sheet lists both Bluetooth and a/b/g wireless. However, when I go to customize and order a 266876u on the EPP site, it only lists Bluetooth as integrated and gives me the option of ordering an a/b/g card.

Sooo ... do I need to specify an a/b/g card in my order, or does it come standard?

It comes standard with the IBM a/b/g II wireless card.
I think the option is for a wifi pccard that goes into the pcmcia slot. You don't need it.

You should double check. Some thinkpads when ordered custom, do not have a wireless internal PC card, but they give you the option to choose one (either the IBM or the Intel) for an extra 50$ or so.

The OP is customizing the 266876U which definitely comes with the IBM a/b/g II wireless card.
