your order is beeing processed

Ok WTF

I just recieved an email today from lenovo that my tp is being processed that I will get another email when the tp has shipped.

However lenovos website says

"Status: Your product is currently back-ordered, please call for further information."

And when I checked this morning I got the usuall status that is will ship in 2 weeks.

is this the same thing that has happened to everyone else? I know there have been a few other threads about this. I my TP going to ship finally or am I going to be waiting a nother month like I was origianlly told.

It's all unpredictable. Most likely, you'll receive it in a month or so.

Generally, the IBM service reps are right. Whatever they tell you on the phone should be pretty accurate.

According to the order status, my TP shouldn't have shipped until Aug. 15. However, it actually shiped today, which is almost 3 weeks sooner than the staus page.

wwarlock: same issue as you, Except mine says Back ordered on the website, and 2-4 weeks on the order status which i recieved in the email...
On the website it also gave me an estimated shipping date of 8 weeks from when i ordered

but can anyone beat an 8 week esimtated shipping date? (by beat i mean more than 8 weeks haha)

update I just got off the phone with the sales team at lenovo and will be getting a 266875u instead. same opptions as my previouse order except the 14.1" screen and 2.0 vers 1.86 processor and 80gig hd vers 60gig. I was told it has a ship date of 2-3 weeks. so we will see. mgenin you might want to consider doing the same thing if you need it sooner than later.

So now I need to go change my signature since I am getting a diff. laptop. btw I am paying an extra hundreed dollors for the new laptop over what I was going to pay. is it worth it? old unit 2668duu vers new unit 266875u?

My sales rep (which i can never get a hold of on the phone) replied with a 1 line email and said that it should ship Aug 3, one month before the estimated date on the site (i think he is full of sh*t).

I ordered the 266872U (with the Intel Centrino) do you think changing it to the 266875U (same specs but with IBM wireless) would help?

the rep I talked to yesterday told me that the part that was on back order and would not be in till the end of auguast first of september was the intel abg wifi so. if you want wait till the 3 rd if it still lists as back ordered then I would switch you are only waiting a few more days. and please let me know if yours does ship.
