Display issues on T42

#1 Post by SLICER » Fri Jul 29, 2005 12:00 pm

I have two minor issues with my t42 SXGA+ TFT display.

First, the lower corners on my t42 screen are darkened. It's only about 1 square centimeter of affected space for each corner, and appears darker on the very edge, then fades out moving away from the corner. It's not a big deal I guess, but is it normal? Should I send it back to IBM?

Second, I appear to have some pixel malfunctions. Not sure if these are "dead" per se, but I've noticed pixels getting stuck on different colors. The pixels are not stuck on the same color all the time; they've changed from being stuck on white to blue or really any color without even restarting the machine. I've seen this happen in at least 2 pixels, which were on opposite sides of the screen, but it could be affecting more than 2 pixels -- maybe pixels near the first ones are also affected? Very noticeable when you have a black desktop background. Again, not a huge problem, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks!

The screen should be evenly lit - give them a call and send it back.
