Which IBM a/b/g wireless adapter for T23 ?

#1 Post by baraider » Fri Jul 29, 2005 1:50 pm

My T23 (2647-9LU) has a builtin B+modem card which i took out and put in the Intel 2100B card.

I want to upgrade it to a/b/g card from IBM. There are two type of IBM card (type II and the older one). It does not show T23 as the compatible machine where i can use this

Anyone has any experience? If i can't upgrade this T23, then i think I'll have to sell it and buy a T42 :(

I know you can upgrade to the Intel A/B/G or B/G card and it should work, people on this site have done it with success. But haven't read about the IBM cards being used yet.

No reason to ditch the T23 over a wireless card issue though
R61i Intel Core 2 Duo.

I have a T23 and I've upgraded it with the Intel 2915 wireless card from Newegg. The link is here:

I have a question for echang2:

I also installed the Intel 2915 wifi pci card in my T23 (2647-Mu8) and it works flawlessly. However, I have lost use of my dial-up modem because the Intel 2915 is unable to connect the black modem wire inside the pci compartment. Did you also lose use of your dialup modem as a result of installing the 2915? I would appreciate your reply as to how you resolve this problem. Thanks.
