Probably 1871-C1U or 1872-C1U

If it really includes ThinkPad protection that's a fine price as most education discounts are near that price WITHOUT that protection (which usually runs about $299 if available in your area).

I live in Florida and no one will insure us. I guess we're either too dumb, too clumsy, or too dishonest. Of course the frequent storms don't help our cause much. Yesterday we had 12-hours of thunder and lightning WITHOUT a drop of rain in my area. Strange. But where else in this wonderful country can you run the risk of getting several tropical (or even animal) diseases just by walking out to the mailbox?

you can get it on ibm.com by the same price plus upgrade to 15", fingerprint and bluetooth. Why i know? Because my brother just got one two weeks ago.
ps. education model wouldn't build in fingerprint and bluetooth.

I think this is a better deal:

2686DGU = $1423.20

Go to: http://www.lenovo.com/think/products/us/en/

Notebooks, then T series

It certainly is a better system, but you need to add about $350 to match the OP's 3 year on-site warranty and thinkpad protection plus.
The 2686DGU only comes with a 1 year depot warranty.
