Getting blue screen on wake up from STBY

Hi

I’m getting blue screen after long STBY sometimes.
It’s pretty much random , sometimes it’s coming back from stdby just fine and sometimes i get the blue screen or just boots.
Yesterday ,i shut down the wireless , disabled CHC and closed skype before closing the lead off. It didn’t help .
How can I attack this thing ?

If the lead is closed for short times ,it seems to work fine. If it’s over night then it takes long time to wake up and if it takes even more then that I know boot is on the way.
This is really Annoying., Shut down will work much faster BTW .
I do have Kingston 512 that I still didn’t run a memory test on , I’m not sure if that the cause or not for yesterday crash . but I remember similar problems before I added that memory

Hey, another mile high denizen.

Make sure you make no hardware changes while you are in standby. For instance don't remove or plug-in a USB mouse, or USB key.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. See what events are showing up, if any, during standby and wake up.

Finally if you don't find the problem, I'm sure asiafish will soon be around saying: "I told you so". He doesn't like standby apparantly because of troubles in the past. I use it all the time without incident. Perhaps different systems just react differently to standby, but I tend to suspect there is a solution for the people that have problems with standby other than just saying 'NO'.

I don't make any hardware changes , and didn't find anything interesting in the log file unless i didn’t understand all the messages .

I do remember when i used the Active ThinkCenter Theme i was getting almost 50% of the time a question if i want to recover it. So i just stop using it. i don't know if that related or if it can indicate why it's reboots after STBY.
I tried once to Hibernate instead of STBY and it wasn't successful either .

Open COntrol Panel and select "Performance and Maintenance."

Select "System" and click the "Advanced" tab. Under "Startup and Recovery" click "Settings."

Uncheck the box marked "Automatically Restart" then ok out.

Next time it BSODs it will stop and enable you to read the error information. Write down the complete error - the hex error (STOP) number, the parameters in the ( ) after the error, the names of any modules or device drivers mentioned, etc.

Then go here http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm and see if you can track down the cause. You can also go to the Microsoft Knowlwdge Base and enter the hex error number in the search box (enter it in the form of 0xnn where nn is the error number).

The same information should also be in the dump files if you have memory dumps enabled. Search for *.dmp on your computer and view any files found with Notepad.

today it took like 30 minutes to get the desktop (i didn't want to reboot in the middle , i wanted to see what happens).then it came on busy with something .
temp went up to 70c. and i could not get the task manager . eventually i had to turn it off and on.
