2668G1U vs. 2668G5U

#1 Post by AshMan » Tue Aug 02, 2005 5:53 pm

Just talked to Lenovo Sales.

2668G1U Wait time: 5 weeks
2668G5U Wait time: 1 week

The only difference from what I can see is the Network card. The sales guy said that card is causing the slowdown.

Any reason I shouldn't cancel my G1U order and get a G5U instead? I've been in the G1U queue for "just" a week and a half.

What made you decide to get the T43p instead of the T43 or T42? Just curious.

I have a few constraints:

1. 14.1in screen
2. 7200RPM
3. 2GB RAM
4. Atleast 2GHz

Couldn't find anything else that met the criteria, so had to go with a 43p. Did I overlook any options?

What will you be using this for? A T43 seems to have all of the features you need. The only reason you would want a 'p' model is because of the better graphics card. Since you're not using this for graphics processing, get a T43. Don't squander your money.

Btw, I'm sure a T43 has enough processing power for you. The slight difference in processor speeds will be almost unnoticeable.
