T23 Checks FAT drives while booting

If my Maxtor firewire external drive and my Lexar USB jump drive are connected to the T23 when it boots, the T23 always wants to check these FAT drives, which for the 300 Gig Maxtor, can take quite a while. My Dell laptop doesn't do this. Can I turn this off with the T23?
