T43p Nagging Error Message for 100 GB HHD Any Suggestion?

#1 Post by redskin » Sat Aug 06, 2005 8:33 am

Does anybody know how to solve the nagging error message for T43p when installing 100 GB HHD or above? It's not that I mind that much when this error comes up, because all it does is for me to go through an extra step on pressing on the ESC button in order to go into Windows. If i can solve this problem then it would be nice to not have to go through it everytime.

When I purchased this notebook from IBM brand new, it came as Bios Version 1.08, and I have not done any Bios upgrade or downgrade, and I don't know if downgrading or upgrading BIOS would help, if I can find the first BIOS version of T43p that is, or maybe if it's possible to use T42p BIOS version for T43p. I've heard that the folks with T42 with older T42 BIOS were able to use 100 GB in their system without seeing the error nagging screen. Any suggestion would be grately appreciative.

Is there any error code or any text displayed describing the error? There was a thread about "Error 2010" that may apply to you:

So far only way to get over with this problem is move to BIOS version 1.03.

it worked like a charm. i tried version 1.03 and it's telling me that there is no upgrade needed, so it wouldn't let me flash to that version. then i tried version 1.02 and it let me flash that version, and it worked fantastic. thanks gentlemen. i appreciated
