NEED HELP FAST - T23 is locked up

Just installed my scanner software onto my T23. I rebooted after the install and opened the scanner program. The computer locked up tight. Mouse want move. I tried using CTL/ALT/DEL but nothing. I can't even shut it down with the power button. Any ideas? Please help.
BTW, I was running on battery when this happened if that makes any difference.

Press and hold the power button down for a slow count of five, the machine WILL turn off.

What's the interface for the scanner? USB, PC card, etc.?

Definitely sounds like a conflict somewhere, check the windows error log.

Ok, it shut down by doing that. It's a USB interface. The software was for my Epson Perfection 1640su scanner. How do I check the windows error log? Thanks. Ron

You didn't mention which version of Windows you are running {XP, W2K, 98}. For XP, you must be logged on as Administrator to install and use the software. W2K did not initially support USB 2.0, and you must be logged on as Administrator or Power User to use the software. USB hubs only work when used a certain way. I think the problem is resolved. I reloaded the software and the problem hasn't appeared again. Everything seems to be working ok so far. Thanks for the help.
