Crucial usually has the best deals, sometimes free shipping.

I'm also looking for a place to get additional ram, preferably 2x 1gb sticks. Anyone got a tip for me? - please notice my location.

btw. are there any European (or even German) members on this board?

I know there are a few European members here, 100% assured because I talked with one on MSNM

You can always check for good prices of computer related stuff at http://www.geizhals.at, in this case specifically http://geizhals.at/?cat=ramsoddr2
Or maybe (dunno about import regulations and taxes) order from a German shop, seems to be a little cheaper? See http://geizhals.at/deutschland/?cat=ramsoddr2

The less expensive ones are not from Crucial, though, but I have positive experiences with Infineon in my Desktop. Maybe someone tried Infineon or Kingston DDR2 in their TP already?

Hope this helps

Just as a quick info: My T43 came with 512 MB "Elpida" RAM and I added 512 MB "Corsair ValueSelect" to it, this combination runs flawlessly.

Even buying genuine IBM doesn't mean that you will get the same chips.
They don't buy memory from only one manufacturer.
T60 2623-D7U, 3 GB Ram.
Dual boot XP and Linux Mint.

Thank you for your recommendations (@tehsoul) - I ordered the 1gb module from crucial yesterday evening ... and quickly canceled the order for a 1gb ibm module I made at an austrian vendor.

The Crucial stick costs me EUR 140,- € all in all, while
the IBM stick would have cost me EUR 244,- €

btw. nice to hear that I'm not the only "Foreigner" here :)
