t40 shuts down instead of sleeps -- bad XP install?

Hi all,

my T40 seems to shut down completely instead of sleeping when I tell it to before closing the lid. I think so, because on waking, it goes through the XP boot screen with the moving progress bar, etc.

Is there some feature that I have to activate to get it to sleep properly? Or did I not configure something right during the XP installation? (the HD had to be replaced)

Right click on an open area of the Desktop. Choose: Properties > Screen Saver > Power... > Advanced. Check that the choice under Power buttons is not 'Shutdown' for When I close the lid of my portable computer.
