How long does it take??

to finally get your t43? I ordered mine exactly 10 days ago and the status still shows as "in process". Also, my credit card hasn't been charged yet. Is this normal?

yeah it's normal... i think usually shipping is between 3 weeks to 2 months.

unfortunately, at the moment t43 production is trying to keep up with the orders, since lots of students are ordering their new thinkpads (including me), so it might take a while for your order to arrive...

wow! I didn't know it would really take that long. I thought my phone sales rep was throwing out a very safe exaggerated (sp?) date of August 26th. Thanks for letting me know =) Hope you get your t43 soon!

I just called them and wanted to switch to something in stock...and all the items that show in stock on the website were not in stock! He said if I switch it could take even longer =( I want it now lol

Sometimes they will ship extremely quickly, it depends on what parts they have a lot of in stock, or don't have a lot of. At least, that is the way it was with IBM, not sure about Lenovo/IBM. Also, you can talk to your salesperson and they can tell you how many orders are in front of you for your particular part number, i.e. 2378FVU. If there are hundreds or more waiting, that could cause delays, but not necessarily.

With IBM, they used to tell you a "worse case scenario" for ship date, and you would get it sooner 9 times out of 10. Not sure if Lenovo is up to this level yet.

I cancelled an order for a T42p and replaced it with an order for a T42. This replacement occured the monday before last and the computer arrived last friday (just about 4 days). That was quite quick!! The point is that its quite unstable or inaccurate what they post on the website. From what I have seen, very few people have had delays in getting their computers.

I ordered my T43 DJU on Friday evening, it was shipped on Sunday evening and arrived early Tuesday morning! However, it was showing 2 weeks wait on the web site when I purchased it.

Don't get too disheartened... I ordered a T43 that had a ship date listed as 9/6, and it actually shipped last week. Got it just over a week after ordering.

Just check your order status every day. The shipping estimates are notoriously inaccurate. Your card will not (cannot) be charged until an order ships.

Mine was ordered around July 15 and I just got it yesterday. So about a month, not bad.

Got mine thru EPP on Sunday the 14th, they shipped it out today and according to UPS I should be getting it tomorrow. Do they ship it out faster if you purchase yours thru EPP?

Hey!

Thanks for all the insight. I have actually tried to call my sales rep. I tried him 3 times today and left three different messages and he never returned my calls. I got a rep on the phone who told me about a model they did have in stock and when I said I would like to switch, he told me I have to speak with my rep. He transferred me and I again got his voicemail. I am getting frustrated because I kind of need it now (School starts next week) and my 2 year old toshiba satellite is fried! (I hate toshiba now by the way).

Anyway, thanks again for all your help. I will try to call them again tomorrow and let you guys know what happened! =)
