T42 2379DXU general question

#1 Post by sjerzy » Thu Aug 18, 2005 3:21 pm

 Hi to all,
I am new here in this forum due to the fact that I recently bought a T42 2379DXU and need a point to discuss on this thing.
At present I need some help, since ther is no published, nor pdf files on new T series, I dont know what is on the right side of the computer, toward the back end of it , there are like swinging two part cover brackets, is that for additional hardware?... :?:

Huh? I don't have a 15", but on the back right side of the 14" is the video port and the ultrabay device bay.

Here is a locations overview movie:

If you press the blue Access IBM button at the top of your keyboard you will find a lot of help in there. You can find out all the ports and features of your TP

Not to sounds like an [censored], but didn't you mean the left front then? Unless you are looking at the computer backwards while its closed the pc card slots are on the front right of all T-series models I have seen.

I was a bit confused also. On the left side towards the back I have USB slots, left side towards the front I have PC Card slots. On the right side towards the back I have I have the ultrabay and the VGA output. That's okay. I know lots of people get left and right mixed up sometimes.

Latest tabook says "US models withdrawn effective August 2005"... Nuts! I've been waiting to buy one next month, and it just vanished from the lenovo site- Newegg seems to have it in stock, though. This leads to my question--> Does the IBM (Lenovo, or whatever) 30 day return, no questions asked (e.g. for dead pixels) policy apply only to thinkpads purchased directly from them, or does it also apply to those bought from other vendors, such as Newegg. Newegg says only warranty is through mfr (they won't accept return) I don't see anything in the Lenovo site saying specifically- anyone have any experience with this???

No 30 day return policy unless bought from IBM, Newgg has an eight pixel return policy.
