WOWOW, I got my new T43!

#1 Post by Merlyn_3D » Thu Aug 18, 2005 5:33 pm

I got my new T43 (see sig) and it's soooooo awesome. I love the IBM/Lenovo software package. Access Connections (Fn+F5), EasyEject (Fn+F9), Presentation director (Fn+F7), and the fingerprint software is sooooo awesome!

I'm soooooo happy with this new laptop. I put my 7k60 drive in there, updated the firmware to fix the 2010 error, and it's soooooo fast and quiet.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the noise of your T43's fan ;)

Actually I just got mine a few days ago and am spending far too much time customising it and not enough time working. The fan;s not an issue for me.

Do you have a preference for the Presentation Director software over the ATI Hydravision?

My fan has yet to get loud. I like IBM's Presentation Director cuz of the integration.

Congrats!!
Second day with my T42..absolutely love this computer...took it to work to show co-workers and they are sold...they will only get IBMs!

Hey pipspeak...let us know of any cool customizations if you run across any....regarding anything from desktop wallpaper to screensavers...whatever! I will do the same!

Most of my customizing involves removing all the un-needed windows and IBM apps and processes that clog up the system, and tweaking various windoze settings for best performance. Together with clean installs of all the major apps I use, I usually spend about two days playing around. Far too long. I thought about cloning my T40 drive but decided a clean install was preferable.

My desktop changes every month depending on my mood, though it always includes various Samurize elements just for kicks and giggles (www.samurize.com)

Where can I find the firmware update for Hard drive? isn't it for all drive models or there's different firmware file for each particular drive model?
Please advice, thanks
