Hi fellows,
Can some one enlighten me on different types of T42 batteries. I assumed that the 6-cell is the included one. Is the 9-cell true name is "T40/R50 Series High Capacity Li-Ion Battery " on the website? Is this one wobble at all despite protruding outside? How about the ultrabay and ultra bay slim, are they all the same capacities? I am interested in the FVU model for medical school, but the numerous complaints about quality kinda put if off a bit. Also, is $100 reasonable for the 9-cell battery?
Thanks
Confused about t42 battery types, can't find pictures.

Wobbling/Loose Batteries: This is not a 9-cell/6-cell issue. It seems that the batteries of both types made by Sanyo have poor fit, while the ones made by Sony are perfectly fine.
Ultrabay/Ultrabay Slim: Ultrabay refers to the older 12.5mm bay (used in T30 and T2x machines), while Ultrabay Slim refers to the new 9.5mm bay in the T4x series. Not sure about the capacities, but 2 hours extra runtime is probably a reasonable expectation.
$100 sounds good for a 9-cell battery. IBM sells them for well over $150 the last time I checked.

Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
Thank you friends for the reply,
Here is the link I found for the 9-cell battery
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 903&depa=0
So is this Model# 08k8197 a sanyo or a sony?
If purchase the computer is there a way to specify which battery I can get?
