Battery Management Problem

Hi all,
I've set the Power Manager options on my brand new T43p to recharge the battery when below 40% and stop recharging at 65% However, a problem SOMETIMES occurs after powering on (after a shut down) or coming out of hibernation or stand-by: my battery still authomatically starts recharging when between the 40/65 thresholds--that is, before it gets below 40% (for example, it did this today with the battery at 59% and it still started recharging).

When it starts automatically recharging, I immediately launch the power manager, doublecheck that my setting are indeed at the custom 40/65, which they are, and at the very second I hit OK, the battery stops recharging...yet this process has, from time to time, repeated itself.

Any suggestions--perhaps a Power Manager Software update?

Maybe this is a little off topic but why would you want to charge your battery to only 65%? I mean I understand lowering the threshold to 90 or so, but 65? You do realize that a li-ion battery will lose capacity over time as soon as it is manufactured?

Yeah, I understand that charging to 65% sounds a little strange, but after getting involved in a few discussions here on battery maintenence, I understand that it's best to 'store' batteries (even when connected to a laptop, but rarely used) in something around a 40-60%-ish charge range. Since I almost never use battery power, keeping the battery in this range should extend its life (rather than charging up to the 90s).

Anyhow, I'm still not sure why my computer, from time to time, automatically recharges while still within the custom threshold I've set.
