Order On-line or call?

Hi All,

Thanks to this forum I am sold on the ThinkPad and after much consideration have finally decided to order the 2379-DXU.

Is there any reason or advantage to call IBM's toll free phone number rather than order online?

Online orders get free shipping. If you call over the phone sometimes you can get a % discount if it's your first ThinkPad order (anectdotal evidence).

Have you considered ordering a machine from Bill (site admin)? He's a licensed IBM vendor and lots of people here have purchased from him.

You might get a little discount (5%) if you order it trough a sales rep. But AFAIK it's not combineable with other discounts (Visa, Mastercard, Discovery, AMEX).

I am in the process of ordering my 4th unit from Bill Morrow. Has the best prices and ships quickly when he has it in stock. Never found more dependable and if you run into trouble, Bill can help.
