Finally I am a Thinkpad owner

After spending hundreds of hours on this forum for the past year. I receieved my T43 266876U this morning at 9:44 am. I ordered it on the 13th of August it was and it was processed the 16th for all those needing time frames. So it took about two weeks to get here.

Congrats.

Though it'll probably be one of the best computer's you have owned, I suspect you'll be lingering on these forums for many questions and problems you'll encounter.

I thought I spend a buttload of time on these boards to figure out which comp to get but in actuality, I'm spending more time with little fixes and modifications and, unfortunately, problems that cropped up with my T42.

Still think IBM is one of the better companies if not the best though!

BTW, I just check some Dell forums asking for some help with my desktop. Hhaha, its so funny how "they" (now I'm referring to them as a different group of people-outcasts-kidding) use the XPS backpack...doesnt that just scream "expensive computer inside-come and get it!!!!". I just find that funny.

Congrats! I too spent many long hours and decided to invest in a T43, which has proven to be a great investment! Enjoy it and dont get too caught up with some of the nitpickers around here. Nothing is perfect, but my Thinkpad does a great job.

Funny you should mention that. Before ordering my T42p I was about to order a Dell XPS.

Luckily I found out that Thinkpads were awesome just before I made a HEAVY mistake, a 9+ pound one.

I had never seen a Thinkpad before, but they're just awesome.

Since then I have bought two X30s...

Oh i definitely won't get caught up with the nitpickers. I was aware of every problem and potential problem when I ordered it. Keyboard is great and I found out it is the Chinese made one. Connected right now to the wireless that is great. I will be going back to school in a week and I see how Access Connections will be great. I have a huge campus so the ability to save profiles will be a godsend. Even in my house I can get one connection upstairs and another downstairs.

The scariest thing about this laptop is actually how thin and light it really is. The pics posted on this forum and online were all taken with really nice cameras making it look much bigger than it is. the 14.1 screen is perfect. Also my sister who is a girly girl loves the all black profile of the thinkpad. I love it too so clean simple and straightforward.

Yeah a lot of it is nitpicking, but then some isnt. If you're computer just doesnt turn on (or turn off in one of my cases), I wouldn't call it a "nitpicking" issue.

But nonetheless, the thinkpad is a great investment as far as laptops go! I can't get over the fact that it looks so great!

I'm aslo going back to college and its going to be the perfect accessory. Haha, last year for some of our projects (i'm an engineering student), I had up to five desktops crammed into my room because none of my groupmates had laptops (and yes, we needed all five too!). From there on, we vowed to get laptops for this upcoming year. Its my first laptop...the only think I'm scared about is forgetting the darned thing on a desk or something (it can happen..at least to me).

I remember that feeling, it will be a year soon for my T41. I was (still am) thinking about upgrading but I keep reading about all the problems and figure I'm better off with the T41.

AH yes, the wonderful feeling of getting a superbly built Thinkpad

I was heading towards a HP/Compaq before I got my T41 Thinkpad. Over a year old, a few issues but nothing affecting its operations. It is amazingly thin. I'm always afraid I'll break it or something.

Only problem is on my 80 gb hard drive there is only 64Gb of free space. But thta is a problem that can be taken care of in the future with a reinstall and partition.
Other than that still loving my that my laptop fits PERFECTLY in my lap.
