2668-Q2U Price? I need help :-/

#1 Post by Rhino » Mon Aug 29, 2005 2:56 pm

I ordered the 2668-Q2U and realized ONLY after I received my email confirmation for the order that they might not have given me my edu discount. Does anyone know what the standard or edu-discount price for the 2668Q2U is?

Help?

Thanks :)

The web price is $3799.00 and with the student discount it is $3039.00. Good luck!

Maybe I am just not that skilled, BUT, I cannot (for the life of me) find the top model T43p's on the IBM website.

I have links from people which take me to pages that show them, but I want to know how I can navigate there from the home page?

Tutorial anyone?

Rhino,

You won't find this model on IBM website. Trust me because this model is so new that it just came out in August, and IBM doesn't update their website normally not until after 2 months it came out. if you are looking for the latest models that IBM comes out. every month IBM comes out a pdf file called tabook.pdf you can do a search at IBM site but anyway here is the link for the pdf file, and it has all the IBM notebook models that came out as of August 2005

http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/me.nsf/Lenovo ... cntry=US-L

one you have gone to that site, scroll down the section called "Personal Systems Reference". In that section there is a pdf file called tabook.pdf you can either download it or open it with acrobat reader and you will see all the models that IBM has to offer including newest models that just came out as of August 2005.

Hope this helps

Ordered the 2668-Q2U yesterday!

Rhino and redskin ...

Thanks for all of the info and finally this link to the information that I was
looking for. Nice to have all the specs for the machine that I ordered
yesterday all on one page. I paid pretty much what STS06 posted with
the student discount. It's supposed to ship within 3 weeks. I'm looking
forward to the new addition to my office and I'll let everyone here know
how well the machine works when it arrives. In the meantime, I'll try to stay
tuned for new updates from you guys.

Now for a new question, as mentioned in a previous thread...

I was quoted something like $200 for the extra 1GB RAM, however, when I received the invoice it says I was charged $385 extra!

Once I receive the laptop, can I take out the additional 1Gb and send it back to IBM? I don't mind paying for some things but I would rather just buy it elsewhere at this price.

The additional RAM isn't pre-installed. It comes in its own package and yes, I believe you can send it back. However, I'd first check and see if its the same RAM as the one you wanted. If its the same RAM you wanted, which I'm sure is below the 300 dollar price, then its like a cashier's mistake...meaning I'd check and see if they can just credit you back whatever excess amount they accidentally charged instead of having to send it back and ordering it again.

If the RAM you're getting is not the type of RAM you wanted then of course, you'll send it back.

Just tips to help you save some time...may work!

Good luck!

I'd agree with STS06. It appears that someone made a mistake on the price
of your 1 GB RAM. The invoice that Lenovo emailed me says that I paid
$249.00 more for the RAM option, which is the same that the website
denotes and also what the salesperson quoted me. The $385.00 is way
too much. Call them and rectify the situation. My salesperson also made
a mistake on my order in the model number which I had to call and have
him fix. Seems they are either too busy to stay organized or just too new to
be properly trained.

Good luck!

Finally? It's item #1 in the FAQ and has been for years.
