I guess Lenovo are still working on some transfer of data into another admin system (someone mentioned SAP). Some weeks ago their system showed no system details or warranty info for my machine, now it says:
Status: Expiration date: Location:
In warranty 2007-08-30 NETHERLANDS
Description:
This product has a three year limited warranty which includes a warranty upgrade. This product is entitled to parts and labor and includes on-site repair service. Service is available Monday-Friday, except holidays, with a next business day response objective.
I had to enter the serial number by hand, though; the auto-recognition still does not seem to work.
My reseller told me that with IBM/Lenovo the original shipping date is used to calculate the 'estimated' end date of warranty; the real date depends on the date of sale mentioned on your sales slip/bill. Some systems that spend a while in stock with a reseller thus may show quite a difference between the two. It is important to guard your printed bill.
