Is my Batt Normal?

#1 Post by zoviet » Sun Sep 04, 2005 2:39 am

Dear all.. I just bought a T43 2 weeks ago and had used it for abt 4-5hrs everyday on AC but with my battery fully charged in it. I had used the CHC to set the threshold between 20% and 99%. But to my surprise, a check just now shows me that my battery life had actually lost about 8%(original capacity for the batt : 51560w. Total capacity for batt now : 47430w) And this is only after 2 weeks of non intensive use.. Can anyone pls comment if this is normal or not, wat shd i do? thanx alot!

Normal. There is nothing much you can do. Battery starts to lose its capacity no matter if you use it or not. FWIW, you have one year warranty and hopefully it will bonker out before the warranty has expired so you can get a new one from Lenovo :D

I have lost 30 percent over 20 months, so I am quite pleased with the performance of the new Lithium Ion batteries. I probably need to consider a new battery sometime. ... JD Hurst

There is no value I can see in pulling the battery out, and no shortcoming I can see in leaving it in. I leave my battery in the ThinkPad all the time and operate on AC most of the time. ... JD Hurst
