Onsite or EZserv?
Onsite or EZserv?
Is it worth the extra $$$ for the onsite or will the ezserv do? experiences with either or both warranties would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Onsite or EZserv?
I have used ezserv and it's pretty fast. My system board stopped working on a Monday morning. I called IBM and had them send out a box via Airborne Express. Airborne picked up my ThinkPad monday night, and IBM had it repaired on my doorstep by Weds at 8AM.
The advantage of onsite repair is that you can see the results of the repair immediately and of course talk to the repair technician. If ezserv screws something up you end up sending the machine back

Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
Onsite is excellent but just be aware that it's not available everywhere.
If you live at the end of the earth, you probably won't be able to get someone to come out and fix your machine and will have to use EZServe, even if you've paid for Onsite service.
If you can only see the end of the earth from where you live, you might still have a problem.
Wasn't that long ago when the Onsite service was only available in major cities.

James
