How to slow processor/grafic speed for old games?
How to slow processor/grafic speed for old games?
I love some old games, designed for win95 or ealier.
I want to play in train, plane,...
When I start them, my CPU and ATI Card switch someway to maximal performance and eat my accu in less then 1 hour.
Old games were designed to use at Intel 486/66, I need no more processing pover to run them.
I want to find some utility to slow my T42p when I start game or only control my game window(producing NOP-Tacts?). Surely I can undervoltage my PC wich CHC, but I want a solution controlled by start/stop. Then I can use bath to start utility+game and then stop both.
Do You know such utilities?

Well, if you're trying to extend your battery life when gaming, make sure you have Powerplay enabled in the ATi Control Panel, and set your power configuration to maximise the battery life (I use the Super Power Saver setting).
If all you're playing is old games, then you shouldn't need to change anything between gaming and regular usage.

sorry .. just coudn't resist. back to point
Try undervolt your CPU. this will slow it down. if you don;t want to take that pain goto power management and create a custom power scheme and use minimum performance and Maxiumu battery life. medium LCD brightness.
