Serious Question for the CHC or RM

#1 Post by cooleye » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:40 pm

I got my T43 for one week now and very happy by using the CHC to undervolte cpu a little bit. However I am wondering whether the undervolting softwares like CHC or RM will do any short or long term harm to notebook's hardware?

I read a post from an Chinese thinkpad forum and one guy pointed out the RM might potentially do harm to the CPU voltage IC, the link is as below if you can read chinese ...

Anyway I do not know whether this is true or not, do you guys have any idea for the HARDWARE SAFETY by using undervolting software? I am really worried now after I read that post...:(

"Chinese thinkpad forum"

if they knew technical Stuff Lenovo would have fixed Heating issues in T43. No offense

Thinkpads were charm till IBM had control over design and engineering and all of sudden things just got worse when it became Lenovo .... don't we understand that.

So you're saying Thinkpads were okay till IBM had control over them (didn't IBM have "control" from the start?) and then it got worse when Lenovo bought the PC division? Lenovo had nothing to do with the development of the T43. I in fact doubt that they even had much to do with the Z-series, but since I'm meeting with them tomorrow I'll be sure to ask.
