T42-2373 and intel 2200BG

#1 Post by pug77 » Thu Sep 15, 2005 4:54 pm

I have a T42-2373 and installed an IBM version 2200BG(39T0077). Got it working with my cheap belkin router with a strong signal. When I disconnect the laptop from the ac adapter after browsing a few pages, I get the blue screen of death. I googled the blue screen of death message but found nothing really. Any ideas?

I assume you've updated the drivers on the Intel 2200?

if not, definitely get the latest drivers - they fixed lots of problems.

otherwise, try disabling power mgmt (go to device manager, expand network devices, double-click on Intel 2200bg, and you'll see the option for disabling power mgmt). that worked on a Toshiba m45 that had that problem.

also, make sure you've uninstalled any left over drivers from your previous WiFi card, since they could be conflicting.

Sometimes the driver on Intel's website works better.
