Is your thinkpad (laptop) having the following symptoms?

1. Can't backup because of a bad sector?
2. Windows automatically resets your profile?
3. Check disk cannot fix the the problem
4. You try to log in, but windows says it can't and logs you in a temporary profile?

I have a T41 and these were my symptoms of my Hitachi 7200 60 gig hard drive before it failed. Thankfully I had a backup of no more than 1 week old and recovered all my important files. I should note that I lost ALL of my e-mail because my outlook.pst file was corrupt. I tried every program to repair it. I'm guessing that it was on the bad sector, or split up and parts of it were on the bad sector. Time to swich solely to GMAIL.

But thanks to the great IBM support, I got my new drive and free recovery cd's in 1 day.
