T43 - Problem finger reader - Conflict with ethernet card ?
I have thinkpad T43 26684EA. Everything seem working well except finger reader ( FR) . FR only work right when ethernet card is in unplug status. I also refer the post in this forum:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ger+reader , search on IBM site, update software for finger reader but not better, i still got the problem.
Everybody, who can solve this problem, please help me or tell me best solution to fix it.
Thank you very much.

>>FR only work right when ethernet card is in unplug status<<
when ethernet CARD or ethernet CABLE is unplugged..?
for me i have had no problems at all with T42 or T43 FPR's..
on the X41 tablet, the FPR is in an unusual spot and i use my right thumb..
it does not like the thumb, but immediately recognises my alternate finger, the left index finger..
it COULD be, as discussed in the thread you refer to, that there is some other app that is taking all the cpu time..
maybe wait a moment for whatever is running to finish and then try the FPR..?

I usually use my laptop on my office, there, i use Internet through local network and my ethecard use for it. But, at home i didn't use network and my ethernet card isn't used. The problem occurs in my office. When i plug network cable into my NIC --> FR didn't work right. It can't reconize my finger.when ethernet CARD or ethernet CABLE is unplugged..?
I'm sure that, FR can't work right.maybe wait a moment for whatever is running to finish and then try the FPR..?
Please tell me all suggestion that solve my problem.
Thank you very much.
Just a guess, but I suspect it is something (software) that only runs when you are on the network and conflicts with the reader, rather than a hardware problem.
Have you checked for spyware, adware, viruses, etc?
Look at all the settings in Access Connections, Windows Firewall, Windows Networking, etc. Does your company do anything special as far as authenticating your machine on the network? Token, SecureID, etc?
