Is the USB 1.1 port on my Thinkpad T22 'powered?'

I'm trying to charge the new ipod nano with my Thinkpad T22's USB port. I've heard conflicting reports on whether or not this should work. I can't figure out a way to confirm whether or not this port is 'powered.' Any help would be appreciated...

your best bet is to get a pcmcia card that is usb 2.0 like here
