Concerning a New (Larger) Hard Drive in My T21 ...

Anyone had any luck within install a Seagate Momentus 5400.2 100GB HDD in the ThinkPad T2* series? I am trying to upgrade my original 20GB Hitachi drive to a Seagate Momentus but I cannot get the BIOS to recognize the drive upon startup. I keep getting that annoying red error message. I am also trying to install a new OS at the same time, WIN XP Professional.

I called IBM tech support and they claim the T21 will only "support" hard drives up to 80GB, but I wonder if this is really the case. I have BIOS Version 1.15 (3-28-03) if this matters. I would love to hear from anyone who has had some successful results. Thanks.

I 'heard' it was 80GB but I am not 100% certain. I'll go buy a 100GB from NewEgg now and update you when it comes in. I'll order it by overnight but it will be 2 - 3 days...

BTW- not just for this post. hehe.. =) I could use another 100GB drive here is all and I have some other toys to order...

It worked fine with my T23. I've since moved it to a T42 with no problems.
