Problems burning with HL-DT-ST Rw/DVD GCC 4242 on my T42

#1 Post by skinneej » Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:31 pm

Hi everyone, sorry my first post here is a cry for help but...

I have had my T42 for over one year now and I haven't had too many issue with it. However, recently I've been unable to burn any plain old data cds using the factory installed HL-DT-ST Rw/DVD GCC 4242 drive. All I need to do is copy plain old data files, I'm not trying to use ISO images or anything like that. I had been using some virtual drives with Daemon tools and thought maybe that was causing the problem, but after disabling all of that I am still getting burn errors.

My HD is getting low on space and I wanted to back up some stuff on CD to free up some room but I am getting pretty frustrated. Any help at all would be great.

cheers!

ok I think I may have solved my own problem, I didn't realize just how low disk space had gotten. Its below the 700mb or so that the software would need as backup to burn the CD. I'll free up some space and see if it helps.

I would try the other options where you select TrackAtOnce, DiscAtOnce, DiscAtOnce/96.
