T43 and WRT54GC

#1 Post by Leion » Sun Sep 25, 2005 5:18 am

i am using t43 with the linksys compact router, running on a dsl connection.

I am not sure why sometimes when i tried to connect to the router, i cannot surf net. though i have a valid ip from the dhcp and the modem connection is there.

sometimes, my wireless connection will disconnect for nothing and when i connect back, i find that the router has crashed, because of the wrong time showed. sometimes. i my wireless connection will disconnect but the router is still connected to the internet. I am not sure if it is because of the lastest driver for the wireless adaptor in t43?

anyone has such a problem?

Get the latest driver through Software Install?

Also, check this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=15443

Lastly, I noticed this problem when I put Windows into Hibernate mode and come back. I think the wireless can't maintain itself if went into hibernate mode.

Otherwise, it oculd be route settings, but I do not know much about that.

Check the firmware level in the web browser function of the router, it is a fairly simple task to upgrade it. Also there was an issue with windows losing connectivity prior to sp2, problem was intermittanly getting bumped off. Also your proximity to your access point is important, and you may have some electronic equipment in your home interfering with your connection, phone, try switching channels.
